Installing fall prevention for over 20 years

Guardrails or handrails are the primary roof safety option. Classed as a collective measure in the WAHR 2005 hierarchy of control measures, these should be given preference over other personal types of fall protection such as eyebolts or Mansafe. KSE provides and installs the following rail-based collective measures.

Freestanding Guardrail

Counterweighted Guardrail

Freestanding guardrail is the first option to ensure height safety on flat roofs due to its passive and non-penetrative design. A permanently installed system, modular in design, simple and cost-effective an option to keep people safe when working at height. Counterweighted guardrails require an annual inspection.

  • Mild steel galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 for resistance to corrosion.

  • Designed for ease of installation to decrease the risk of prolonged exposure to unprotected edges

  • Simple design for future maintenance and inspection

  • Compatible with almost all configurations of flat roofs up to 10 degrees slope

  • Available in fold-down for elevations with aesthetic planning requirements

  • Installed to BS 13700:2021

Fixed Guardrail & Handrail

Fixed guardrail is a great multi-use product that can be used for roof perimeter protection as well as along walkways, stairwells, loading bays, roof voids, roof lights, and pedestrian areas.  It is a modular system that can be secured to walls or steel structures. Guardrails are required to be inspected as per the recommendation of a competent person.

  • Mild steel galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461  for resistance to corrosion.

  • Designed for ease of installation and permanently fix to both walls and steelwork.

  • Modular design allows reconfiguration on site if needed
